My research interests center around robotics, including machine perception, clustering and classification, tracking, navigation, planning, and map building. My PhD research focused on sensor fusion and state estimation, introducing a new family of optimization algorithms that make it possible to deal with large numbers of noisy measurements. Most recently, I was a student technical lead on MIT's DARPA Urban Challenge Team; our autonomous car finished the race in 4th place.
